Catalog Photography
Catalogs have a job to do and that job is to sell your merchandise. Catalog Cover Photography is designed to get your attention and to tempt you to look inside. Once inside, some of the catalog photography, such as intro pages and section divider pages are there to set a mood and show a style. But the basic product catalog photographs are there for the specific purpose of showing the potential buyer just what it is that they are getting for their hard earned money.

The basic catalog product photos must show the product clearly, with lots of detail, accurate color, and lighting that best defines the textures, surfaces and materials. Special features must be highlighted. The essence and spirit of the product must be evident. There must be the perception of quality.
If the product which you are selling is of such a nature that its appearance is competitively important, then the ability of the catalog photography to communicate that appearance, the ability of the photography to create the illusion of style and quality is a critically important factor in your ability to compete for sales in the marketplace.
